Gender Studies - Online Resources


Databases

  • Gender Statistics - Provides data on key gender topics. Themes included are demographics, education, health, labor force, and political participation. Available from the World Bank's Open Data Initiative.

  • Gender Watch - GenderWatch is a full text database of over 170 unique publications focusing on how gender impacts a broad spectrum of subject areas. With its archival material, GenderWatch is a repository of an important historical perspective on the evolution of the women's movement and the changes in gender roles. Publications include academic and scholarly journals, magazines, newspapers, newsletters, regional and international publications, books, booklets and pamphlets, conference proceedings, and government, non-governmental organization, and special reports. Its subject areas include Gender Studies, Women's Studies, Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender studies, and Family Studies. Offered through ProQuest.

  • Gerritsen Collection - A cross-cultural resource for information on women's history. It spans more than four centuries and 15 languages, and includes books, pamphlets and periodicals. The majority of the collection covers the years 1543 to 1945. Offered by Proquest/Chadwyck-Healey.

  • GLBT Life and Issues - Full text journal articles in gay, lesbian, bi-sexual, and trans-gender studies. Offered through Gale.
