The instructor for the course is
Dr. Thomas Beach
(unless the semester schedule indicates otherwise...in
which case the details on these web pages about what is taught in the class may not apply).
Prerequisites: No courses are required as prerequisites, but the class assumes that you know the basics of using a microcomputer.
Grading for the course is based on in-class exercises and some out-of-class exercises. You may use the UNM-LA Mac Lab computers to do your exercises whenever there are no classes using the rooms. Students who desire an "A" must complete an additional optional exerceise -- either performing a research project using the Internet, or making thier own web pages.
Textbook: There is no required textbook for the class. In the past we have used the excellent book Internet Starter Kit for Macintosh, fourth edition, by Adam C. Engst.
Required Materials: Students will need at least one 3.5" High-Density Floppy Diskette -- but you'll need more if you want to download lots of stuff from the 'net :-)
