All tuition and fee charges are subject to change without notice. A student's readmission, registration, library privileges, release of official records and other requests may be restricted or denied unless satisfactory financial arrangements have been made or until tuition and fees are paid

Tuition Rates

During the Fall Semester, non-resident rates will be charged to students taking greater than six hours and who are not New Mexico residents. Non-resident students taking six or less credit hours will be charged resident rates.

There are no resident requirements for Summer session, all students are charged resident tuition.

Enrollment Adjustment Fee

A $10 fee will be charged for each transaction occurring after semester deadline dates. Enrollment adjustment forms and guidelines are available at Student Services. 

Tuition Installment Plan

Payment of tuition and fees may be deferred under the University's Installment Plan, which requires a down payment and payment of a non-refundable set up fee. All deferments require a promissory note. All deferred charges must be paid in full before a subsequent deferment will be granted. For additional details, call 662-5919 ext. 715. 

Direct Lending

The University of New Mexico-Los Alamos is no longer a participant in the Federal Stafford Loan Program. The new federal loan program is the William D. Ford Direct Loan Program. Students wishing to borrow under this new program may contact the Financial Aid Coordinator for more information. This new loan program replaces both in-state and out-of-state loan applications. This new program applies to all students attending the University of New Mexico-Los Alamos. No other loan application will be accepted.

Reduced Tuition Rates For Senior Citizens

Senion citizens (persons are 65 years or over) are eligible for reduced tuition under the Senior Citizens Reduced Tuition Act. Tuition is $5 per credit hour (lab fees charged at regular rate). Senior citizens may register for a maximum of six credits hours at the reduced rate on a space-available basis, after the first day of classes. Seniors must be New Mexico Residents to qualify for this discount.

To avoid late registration fees, students must pay tuition, fees and all outstanding charges by the following deadlines:

Enrollment Cancellation Notice

Students who fail to pay full tuition and fees by the deadlines below will have their registration cancelled and will be dropped from all classes. To avoid cancellation, please pay all charges in full or make adequate financial arrangments with the UNM-LA Cashier. Payment plans may also be set up on LoboWeb.

Summer Session.................... 5:00 p.m., June 11, 2008
Fall Semester.................. 5:00 p.m., September 2, 2008

IF YOUR ENROLLMENT IS CANCELLED...
Students with a cancelled registration who wish to be enrolled at UNM-Los Alamos must re-register. Full payment or financial arrangements to cover all tuition and fees must be made at that time. A non-refundable $30.00 late registration fee will also be charged. For payment plans set up on LoboWeb, it is the student's reponsibility to monitor their payment balances either on LoboWeb or with the UNM-LA Cashier. LoboWeb provides 24-hour access to financial accounts. Please review the drop or withdraw deadlines in the Schedule of Classes.
