Ivette Jimenez
|
Hello everyone my name is Ivette Jimenez and I am a nontraditional student and single mom to a soon to be 2 yr old boy. I am originally from California and came out to New Mexico to be with my sister. I am Hispanic and bilingual. This is my first time attending college, I am seeking a degree in Liberal Arts and I am very excited. I decided to go back to school to offer my son an opportunity at a better future. I am looking forward to joining student government and being more involved with the University. |

Edith Danielson
|
My name is Edith Danielson. I am a non- traditional student. I had attended school in the past, but I took time off to raise my two sons, and helped my husband receive his PhD. I was born and raised in a Mexican immigrant family in Southern California. I am fluent in both Spanish and English. Ever since high school I always loved joining clubs. It gave me a chance to meet people and to make lifelong friends. I would like to be a part of the Student Government, because I feel this school does a great job in welcoming all types of students, and I want to continue in doing so. I want to keep the school fun, energetic and welcoming. |

Becky Rutherford
|
After a year as a student at UNM-LA, I have decided I want to run for student government. I would value the opportunity to be a part of the decision making process, and to make the school a better place for my fellow students. Our school provides a valuable service to the community, and I would like to be more involved with that. I think that the adult student population here needs a representative in student government, and that is part of why I am running for office. I hope that you will consider me as your representative in student government. |
Loreal Wilson |
First of all, my name is Loreal Wilson and I’m from the Navajo Nation. The reasons why I want to join student government are because I want to represent the Native Americans at this school and I know my leadership skills are perfect for this type of organization. I’ll give you a brief history of myself. I’m majoring in nano technology and I got potential to serve this school in lots of positive ways. I’m determined to perform the difficult tasks as a student government member and I love challenges. I won’t disappoint you. |
