Dear Conference participants,

We look forward to seeing you in Snowmass, CO next week at the 40th Annual Anomalous Absorption Conference. There are several reminders which the organizing committee would like to convey to you:

(1) Snowmass, CO is at 8104 feet elevation and Aspen Mountain Club atop of Aspen Mountain is at an elevation of 11200 feet. For those who are not adjusted to high altitude living, please be aware of the effects on your body. You may have to slow down your pace in physical activities to avoid shortness of breath and discomfort (light headedness). Maintaining an adequate fluid intake is helpful to guard against high altitude effects.

(2) The temperature at night may be cool. Bring appropriate clothing to ensure your comfort.

(3) For the banquet, since it is held at an elevation of 11200 feet, please dress appropriately in anticipation of cool weather at night there. Attire for this event is business-casual.

(4) For those oral presenters, please note that only electronic equipment for Powerpoint and PDF presentations will be available.

(5) For those who fly into Aspen airport, you may call the Silvertree Hotel at (970)923-8252 for free shuttle service to the hotel.

(6) Last but not least, please join us at the Sunday (6/13) reception from 6:30 to 8:30 pm in the hotel lobby to celebrate the 40th anniversary of this conference.

Several maps are attached for your information.

Regards,
